 - graduate calibre (CIPS preferred) and/or procurement experience with process/systems implementation interest

- Collaborating, communicating and co-ordinating activities of all the procurement categories and/or contracts under management.

The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of and capability to handle a work portfolio in the region of £20-£30m, ideally within Adult Services, Commissioning or indirects/services
- Detailed knowledge of procurement legislation, bid tendering, contract management and supplier management.
- Experience of managing a team and/or function.
- Strong working knowledge of Public Sector processes.
- Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
- The ability to analyse financial information, understand the business context and extract key facts to deliver improvement and opportunities.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of EU Procurement Law.
- Extensive (minimum 4 years; preferred 5 years) procurement experience and expertise, having operated at a strategic level, with a strong track record of success in delivering financial savings.
- High level project management skills

- Managing four staff; conducting appraisals, regular team meetings and working with individuals to develop their skills, ensuring best practice within the team
- Developing an overall service plan/portfolio to establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers. Provide support in implementing these plans.
 - Developing a Supplier Relationship Management Programme that unlocks benefits through the promotion of a joint approach to continuous improvement and innovation

The successful candidate will have:
- Detailed knowledge of procurement legislation, supplier and contract management
